Pre-contract information
Pre-contract information helps organisations to assess whether they are in tune with the goals of the funder and have the capability to operate within the contractual conditions and available funding.
Why is pre-contract information good practice?
Pre-contract information helps organisations to:
- assess the compatibility of their mission, values and goals with those of the funding agency
- assess whether they can operate within the contractual conditions and available funding
- decide if they have the capacity and skills to be a successful provider
- assess if they are likely to succeed with a proposal
- complete an application.
Pre-contract information example: Ministry of Youth Development
The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) provides government funding and manages contracts for youth development services.
Organisations applying to MYD for youth services funding can refer to its Services for Young People policy and guidelines.
MYD's guidelines help organisations prepare their proposals and cover:
- MYD’s Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa
- the Services for Young People Fund
- contract details
- monitoring and reporting requirements, including minimum standards expected by the MYD assessment criteria
